Big Head Ruby Snapper
Also known as the Giant Ruby Snapper. This species is characterized by a robust, tall head with a steep dorsal profile, an indistinct, rounded opercular spine, and a black tip on the upper caudal fin lobe. It's a large orange-red fish that can grow to over 150 cm in length.

Local Names: Maya-maya, Sagisihon, Tikwi, Sagisi

Typically found in deep waters, ranging from 200 to 300 meters (656 to 984 feet). They prefer rocky bottom habitats within the Indo-West Pacific region.
